About Friends of Rise

Frances Black’s courage in speaking openly about her own recovery from addiction; and her selfless example, giving of herself to set-up a primary care organization that supports family members in their own struggles, inspired fans in Cleveland to reach out to Frances to offer their help in raising funds to advance her vision.

After consultation and conversations, FRIENDS OF RISE – IRELAND, INC. was incorporated as a vehicle to raise and allocate funds in order to aid Irish families with loved ones in addiction.

In December 2014, FRIENDS OF RISE – IRELAND, INC. staged its first fundraising event at the West Side Irish American Club in Olmsted Twp. Ohio featuring music and dance performed by local Irish artists The Roundabouts, and the Brady-Campbell Irish School of Dance; Eimear Reynolds, of Roscommon (the reigning “Face of Ireland” at the time), as well as noted singer/guitarist Donie Carroll from New York City (originally Cork). Frances Black, as the featured speaker, shared her passion and vision for helping families in Ireland with loved ones in addiction.

In January 2016, events are planned for Cleveland, New York, and Chicago with inquiries from several other cities.
